BLOOD FLOW VISUALIZATION
Fluorescence imaging with Fluobeam® after artery coronary bypass in animal
At the beginning of the video, the mammary artery is clamped and Fluobeam® enables to visualize the lack of blood flow and perfusion in the associated area. After few seconds, the clamp on the mammary artery was removed and Fluobeam® enables to see in real time the reestablishment of the blood flow.
The very early graft failures , after artery coronary bypasses , have been predominantly linked to technical problems at graft anastomosis sites and may be correctable if recognized intraoperatively.
Currently, there is no standardized approach of intraoperative graft assessment.
Fluorescence angiography performed with Fluobeam® improves this diagnosis by helping surgeons to assess in real time the quality of the anastomosis and associated perfusion after coronary artery bypasses.
